The maps presented in these pages narrate the story of overseas migration from India and migrant contributions to India’s development, through visual representations of data culled from a range of primary and secondary sources. These geo-visualisations highlight various trends in migration and remittances for India as a whole and at the state level, as well as for the districts in Karnataka, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh that have been the focus of the Provincial Globalisation research programme. These maps depict NSS data on migration, remittances and socio-economic characteristics of households with international migrants for the states and districts studied by ProGlo.
